A spatially explicit model for establishing adaptive parking prices

چکیده
Urban parking prices do not reflect spatially heterogeneous parking supply and demand. We present a spatially explicit model for establishing on-and off-street parking prices in a heterogeneous urban space that guarantee a predetermined uniform level of occupancy.

Geosimulation of Parking in the City
We present PARKAGENT, an agent-based, spatially explicit, model for parking in the city. PARKAGENT is based on the geosimulation approach, combining real-world GIS database with a multi-agent system. The model simulates the behavior of each driver in a spatially explicit environment and is able to capture the complex self-organizing dynamics of a large collective of parking agents within a non-...
متن کاملFrom Modeling Parking Search to Establishing Parking Policy
The paper presents a conceptual view and explicit agent-based model of parking in a city. Driver-agents behave within a high-resolution GIS database of the street network and parking facilities. They drive towards their destination, search for parking, park for a given interval of time, and leave the network. During parking search, driver-agents estimate the availability of parking places, thei...
متن کاملImproving the resilience of active distribution networks by optimal charging/discharging management of electric vehicles in parking lots
In the event of a severe incident with a high impact and low probability of occurrence, distribution networks may be separated from upstream networks and several feeders may be disconnected simultaneously within the distribution networks. In such circumstances, to maximize the resilience of the distribution networks and to prevent long-term global outages, they are reconfigured and islanded to ...
متن کاملIn Lieu of Required Parking
Americans learn about free parking early, when they play Monopoly. Players buy property, build houses and hotels, pay rent, or go to jail at a toss of the dice – but in one toss out of 40 they land on "Free Parking." When they grow up and drive cars, the odds of landing on free parking increase dramatically; American motorists park free for 99 percent of all their trips. If motorists don't pay ...
متن کاملUrban Parking Space Management via Dynamic Performance-Based Pricing
In congested urban areas, it remains a pressing challenge to reduce unnecessary vehicle circling for parking while at the same time maximize parking space utilization. In observance of new information technologies that have become readily accessible to drivers and parking agencies, we develop a dynamic non-cooperative bi-level model (i.e. Stackelberg leader-follower game) to set parking prices ...
